Chameleon Connector is the proprietary software I use to program/configure Fire Detection Panels from the manufacturer Global Fire Equipment (GFE). With this software, we program all devices related to the fire detection system, including Optical, Thermal, or Rate-of-Rise detectors, input and output modules, zones, loops, and input/output groups.
- The Chameleon Connector software supports the latest generation of panels from the following range:
- Chameleon
- G-One
- Gekko
- Octo+
- Chameleon Rep
The Chameleon Connector offers additional functions such as retrieving the population and status of loop devices, performing firmware updates, and recovering the panel's log file.
One of the key features of this software is the ability to download the current panel configuration to the computer without needing a prior configuration file. This means that even if I didn't program the panel initially, I can recover its configuration file and make any necessary changes.
Important - Version 1.3 or 1.4?
It's crucial to check the system version of the panel because there are two versions of this software: Version 1.3 and Version 1.4. Using the incorrect version may result in successful upload/download of configurations, but some fields might not be filled out or editable.
